Mira Maximos is a pharmacist in the Acute Ambulatory Care Unit (AACU) and Early Career Scholar at Women’s College Hospital, as well as a lecturer at the University of Toronto. She is currently completing a PhD with a topic in infectious disease pharmacoepidemiology related to beta-lactam allergies. Mira’s research interests centre around health equity and knowledge mobilization of therapeutics research that considers sex, gender, and equity across the entire population. She is interested in sex and gender-based analyses + that focus on the safety and efficacy of pharmacotherapeutics, as well as sex and gender related variables associated with adverse medication event reporting and pharmacovigilance. As a hospital pharmacist, she has an interest in pharmacist-guided pharmacotherapy and drug therapy optimization in the ambulatory care setting. Previously, Mira was an inpatient and Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacist specializing in Infectious Disease at a community hospital and continues to focus a part of her research on antimicrobial stewardship initiatives in the ambulatory care and hospital settings.
