Heather started her career in health promotion, then returned to school to complete a degree in Occupational Therapy. She has worked as a clinician and then team leader in specialized geriatric services. In her team's quest to implement best practices, she became excited about applying the principles of knowledge translation and implementation science into practice. She returned to school for her DSc in implementation science to be that bridge between academia and practice. She is now practicing full-time as that 'bridge' as a knowledge translation specialist in the long-term care sector.
