We work with and support professionals around the world who are eager to use and apply different theories, models, and frameworks to their implementation work. Unfortunately, after selecting an appropriate framework, it’s pretty common for us to hear that people are struggling with how to apply the framework. They often have lots of questions about the logistics and wish that there were examples of how people had used the framework in different ways.

That’s why we were so excited to see the new version of the RE-AIM.org website. The RE-AIM developers have built out multiple different tools and resources to help people (both implementation researchers and practitioners) delve into using RE-AIM. Here are some exciting features to check out:

What is RE-AIM?

If you are new to RE-AIM, this is the place to start. This page provides an overview of RE-AIM and links out to many other resources. For example, you can learn about the components of RE-AIM – reach, effectiveness, adoption, implementation, and maintenance – and then select each one and see examples from the literature.

Guidance on using RE-AIM

Once people understand the components of RE-AIM, the next questions are about applying RE-AIM. This page offers guidance and recommendations on how to use RE-AIM across the phases of implementation – while planning for implementation, during implementation, while evaluating, and while writing a grant.

Exploring RE-AIM misconceptions

Once people start adopting and adapting frameworks, it’s common for the field to develop misconceptions about the frameworks and how they are used. RE-AIM developers have explored some of the common misconceptions in this video.

Interested in an interactive RE-AIM planning tool and other resources?

To take your planning one step further, they have developed this interactive planning tool. From there, you might want to check out the measures and checklists or grant writing guidance. Finally, you might be interested in checking out the different RE-AIM publications or presentations.
