Looking back at 2025

⭐ Memorable highlights

Released the free Map2Adapt tool and supporting resources

We released our interactive Map2Adapt tool alongside a new overview and 50+ page practical guide, helping teams plan for adaptations more systematically through concrete activities, discussion questions, and clear decision points.

Surpassed 100 certified changemakers

We launched a more beautiful and user-friendly directory of certified professionals, making it easier than ever to discover and connect with implementation support specialists.

We also reached a major milestone — surpassing 100 certified changemakers with 400 more in progress— reflecting the growing demand for thoughtful, skilled implementation support and the strength of a global community committed to this work.

Added more value to TCI courses and certificate program

In December, we enhanced the value of our courses and Level 1 certification by expanding access, support, and opportunities for connection.

Course and certificate participants now receive membership in the Implementing Change Community as part of their registration, which means they can join:

  • Monthly virtual Open Support sessions with Drs. Julia Moore and Sobia Khan

  • Dedicated spaces for active course + certificate participants

For Level 1 certificate participants, we also built in extended access to the courses (previously limited to 1 year). We’ve had so many requests for this!

Group-based learning gained momentum

In 2025, we noticed a clear shift in how TCI courses were being used: more teams and networks chose to move through them together rather than individually.

While group learning has always been part of how people engage with our courses, this year it showed up with greater frequency and diversity — across funders, organizations, research teams, and practitioner networks.

Examples included funder-supported cohorts through Kids Brain Health Network (KBHN), cross-departmental teams within Placer County Office of Education (PCOE), and collaborative initiatives such as THiiNC-ECHO and Can-SOLVE CKD.

This growing momentum signaled that shared learning is becoming a more common and valued way for people to build implementation capacity using our courses.

Alongside this, we supported some teams with live workshops that complemented course content, creating additional space for reflection, discussion, and application. This blended approach to learning is something we’re excited to continue offering as teams look for ways to deepen and extend their learning together.

We’ve also learned about many new and interesting ways people are supporting groups, and we’re gaining deeper insight into how teams are best supported — directly from the teams themselves. We’ll be sharing more about this in an upcoming bulletin. (Not on our mailing list? Join here.)

Filmed 2 new courses plus more training content

This year, we held two shoots — the most we’ve ever done in a calendar year — and they were also our smoothest yet!

We filmed Context at Scale, which will complete our set of Level 2 courses. This new course takes a deep dive into some of the more complex and challenging aspects of implementation planning.

We also filmed a fully updated version of our Level 1 course, Implementation, Spread, and Scale — and, yes, we’ll be renaming it too! (Let us know if you have ideas.)

Plus, we filmed new videos to update content in StrategEase: The HOW of Creating Sustainable Change.

And on top of that, we filmed a set of videos on theories, models, frameworks, and approaches (TMFAs), which will be released as a new product offering that includes additional resources to help you select appropriate TMFAs!

Strengthened and streamlined our services

We refined our services to better reflect the work we do and the needs we continue to hear from people leading and supporting change.

This included streamlining our offerings and updating our website to more clearly communicate how we support initiatives and organizations.

Our services now align across six core areas:

  • Facilitating interactive and participatory workshops

  • Developing practical, user-centered implementation tools

  • Embedding implementation science into organizational strategy

  • Providing guidance through implementation project reviews

  • Co-developing organizations’ in-house training programs

  • Partnering on long-term and large-scale implementation initiatives

Contributed to broader conversations on change through podcasts

We had the opportunity to appear on several podcasts, sharing practical insights on implementation, change, and sustainability.

These conversations allowed us to connect with new audiences, reflect on lessons from the field, and contribute to ongoing dialogue about what it takes to support meaningful, lasting change.

Brought the TCI team together for an in-person retreat

In June, our full-time team came together in person for a multi-day retreat focused on team building and organizational planning — with lots of laughs, of course!

The slower pace and change of scenery created a different kind of energy than our usual virtual work, giving us space to learn more about one another, enjoy each other’s company, and strengthen how we work together so we can show up more thoughtfully in our work with you.

🤝 Collaborations we were part of

We worked with several teams and organizations at different stages of implementation.

A few of the organizations included:

  • Centering Healthcare Institute – Collaboratively built 2 implementation guides: one for the local implementation teams, and one for the central implementation support team.

  • Kids Brain Health Network (KBHN) – Completed implementation project reviews, providing feedback and guidance on KBHN-funded initiatives.

  • Healthcare Excellence Canada (HEC) – Trained future healthcare leaders in the EXTRA™: Executive Training Program (with more training coming up this year!).

  • CalHOPE – Wrapped up a 4-year-long partnership to support social and emotional learning implementation across California, and engaged in planning on how to sustain and scale the work.

  • Solutions for Kids in Pain (SKIP) – Began building an interactive online implementation guide.

✈️ TCI travels
